AGE: 79 WALL
Marian J. Moratis, 79, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Bradley Beach, Mrs. Moratis relocated to Wall Township 54 years ago. She was employed as a telephone operator for AT&T from 1945-1985, retiring in 1985 after 40 years of service. She was also a past member of the Bradley Beach Methodist Church Choir, a member of the AT&T Pioneers and an avid traveler throughout the U.S.
Mrs. Moratis was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1986; her sister, Almeda Smith; and her brother, Fred Brown. She was the loving mother of John and his wife Linda Moratis of Middletown, Michael Moratis of Wall, Connie and her husband Robert Carfano of San Jose, Calif., and Marie White of Wall; and dear sister of Alice Maire of Red Bank. She was also the devoted grandmother of Christopher, David, Matthew, Stephen, Allison, John, and Gregory and great-grandmother to Fenix and Gryphin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 at the Johnson McGinley Funeral Home, 2652 Highway 138, Wall (adjacent to the Route 18 North entrance) The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at the funeral home, followed by interment at Hamilton Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. Moratis's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753.
