Marion A. Palmer (nee Walter), died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove. She was 89. Mrs. Palmer was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Newark. She attended high school in Jersey City and lived most of her life in Neptune City, where she raised three children and worked as a waitress. She helped manage The Flamingo Diner in Neptune and Jack's Luncheonette in Asbury Park for many years. Mrs. Palmer attended the United Methodist Church in Neptune City, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Ernest Palmer Sr., in 1979. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Bedford-Shea and her husband Edward Shea of Neptune City, and Mary Diane Cramer of Pittsburgh; her son, Ernest Palmer Jr. of Thorofare and his former wife, Cathy Palmer of Lakewood; her grandchildren, Janine Bedford-Sims and her husband Edward, Jennifer M. Cook and her husband Michael, Robert C. Bedford and his wife Kelly, Lance T. Shea, Floyd (Sonny) Cramer and his fiancée Kristen, Angelina M. Patton and her husband Kevin, Teshia M. Scalpati and her husband Lou, Melissa Palmer, Jeremy Palmer and Joseph Palmer; her great-grandchildren, Damon Bedford, E.J. Sims, Kimberly Cook, Kayleigh Cook, Kaitlynn Cook, Breanna Patton and future great-granddaughter Kiera Bedford.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, with a service to follow at Francioni, Taylor and Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th Avenue at the corner of Atkins Avenue, Neptune. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Family Resource Associates, 35 Haddon Ave., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, NJ 07724.
