Marjorie Cottrell Obituary
AGE: 86 •
Marjorie Helen Cottrell, 86, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Friday, July 7, 2017. Born and raised in Union, she had lived in Ocean Grove and Neptune before moving to Freehold in the 1970's. Marjorie was a homemaker and farmer. She also worked as a sales associate in the record department at Two Guys, Neptune City and, prior to that, was a telephone operator for NJ Bell, Asbury Park. Marjorie was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Unexcelled Fire Company, Neptune.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Peter Cottrell, Sr.; son, John Peter Cottrell, II; brother, Frank Tephford; and sister, Dorothy Mieras. Marjorie is survived by her son, Frank M. Cottrell and his wife, Kelly of Howell; two daughters, Marjorie H. Wildman and her husband, Michael of Southport, NC, and Francine M. Cottrell of Freehold Township; nine grandchildren (two of whom she raised); eighteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Evelyn Wooley of Neptune, and Carol Aponte of Newark, DE. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
