Mark Hartmann Obituary

Mark Hartmann

Mark Hartmann, 62, forever full of happiness and good will, passed away the morning of Sunday, February 21, with his loving wife at his side. The youngest son of Jack Hartmann Jr. and Dolores Doerre, Mark's early years were spent in Manchester, NJ, graduating from Lakewood HS in '76. After earning an associate's degree from Ocean County Community College, he found occupation at Oyster Creek nuclear power plant, a place he'd stay for the next 36 years, laboring the majority of them in Radiation Protection and as a proud member of IBEW Local 1289. A tireless work ethic, it was Mark's family and friends he turned an even greater dedication toward, fixing, supervising, and educating as he mended our homes, cars, and relationships. Moments of rest meant pancake breakfasts, trips for ice cream, caring for one of his cherished dogs, and Sundays at Manahawkin Baptist Church where he continued his lifelong affinity of music playing drums in the worship band. However, it was always the beach that he loved the most, a place he asked to be memorialized when the warm sunshine returns. Predeceased by his parents, Mark leaves behind a beautiful family: his unwavering and nurturing spouse, Evelyn; older brothers Jay and Doug; daughter Lauren Gleeson and her husband Sean; son Eric and his fiancée Allie, and his son Jack. Treasured also were his three Pelrine stepchildren: son Richard and his wife Kane; son Grant; and daughter Brittni Weiss and her husband Tim. Collectively, he celebrated six grandchildren: Chase and Brody Pelrine; Zoë Pelrine; and Eamon, Patrick, and William Mark Gleeson.

The family notes that memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org/donate, or through the mail at 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Mark was an amazing man. I had the pleasure of meeting him through the friendship of our children. His love for his wife and family was abundantly evident in all that he did. My son Kyle vacationed with his family in New Jersey, and my husband and I love his boys Jack and Eric as if they were our own. Sending so much love and respect to the family. You did good Mark, your boys will certainly continue to make you proud, and you will never be forgotten!

This picture of Mark says it all❤ Mark was a man who loved life, his Lord, his family & friends, & had a laugh that was so infectious you couldn't help but laugh right along with him. The love he & Evelyn shared was both beautiful & inspiring to everyone. Mark's deep Christian faith was such a blessing to see, & was even more inspiring as he battled his illness, always giving God the glory. Mark was a wonderful guy & Bruce & I are incredibly blessed to have called him our friend. Mark, we'll see you in Heaven❤
