Mary Merken Obituary
Hazlet - Mary E. Merken, 88, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Dec 14, 2018. She was born Mary E. Meleski on August 14, 1930 in Bayonne, where she was raised. She moved to Keansburg in 1955 before settling in Hazlet, in 1958 where she raised her family.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Teresa (Driscoll) Meleski, her beloved husband, Allen C. Merken, Sr., her sisters, Betty Zajac and Terry Meleski, and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Geisler. She is survived by her loving children, Lois Muhaw and her husband Bob of Howell, Allen C. Merken, Jr. and his wife, Bernadette of Holmdel, Jill Merken and Bud of Castle Rock, CO, and Paul S. Merken and his wife, Francine of White House Station, her dear brother, Stanley Meleski and his wife, Dolly, her sisters-in-law Doris Leahy and Jean Mowbray, her adored grandchildren, Kenny Muhaw and his wife, Darlene, Gabrielle Merken, Amanda Massey and her husband, Michael, Anastasia Merken and Jake Merken. Mary will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tues, Dec 18, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM and Wed, Dec 19, 2018 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, NJ, 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Interment will follow at Shorelands Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Highway 35, in Hazlet. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Mary may be made to Deborah Heart Fund https://www.deborahfoundation.org. I am so very sorry for the loss of Mary. She was a wonderful person, and she love nothing more than to be surrounded by her loving family. She was so much fun to be around. I had a wonderful time with Mary visiting Jill in Colorado we had so many laughs she and my mom got along famously. They were like two peas in a pod with two daughters who love them more than anything. God rest her soul. She and Millie will be having a wonderful time in heaven because that's exactly where they'll be.
