MATTHEW J. AMITRANO
AGE: 64 HAZLET
Matthew J. Amitrano, 64, of Hazlet, NJ, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home in Hazlet. He was born in Manhattan, NY and lived in Long Island, Bronx, Jackson NJ, moving to Hazlet over 20 years ago. Matthew worked as an owner operator for Zems Security in Hazlet for over 30 years retiring in 2009. He loved fishing, ball room dancing, bicycle riding, his hobbies of building doll houses and sports memorabilia turned into businesses called Pop Pop's Doll Houses and Hazlet Sports Cards Plus out of a store front in the Airport Plaza Shopping Plaza.
Surviving are sons, Matthew and Ralph; daughters, Wendy and Kim; sisters, Beverly and Phyllis, and brother, Ralph, and eight Grandchildren. Matthew was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years Janis A. Amitrano (2003), and his parents, Ralph and Jennie and brothers, Frank and Raymond.
Memorial gathering will be held Wednesday May 5, 2010, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown NJ. In lieu of flower donations can be made to the National Brain Tumor Society www.braintumor.org/sdonatenow/ or by phone at 1-800-770-8287. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected].

Uncle Matt was a great guy with a quick wit! We remember the great time we had with him up in MA a couple of summers ago. We will remember him fondly and with love. We'll miss you Uncle Matt!
