Matthew Ensor Obituary
AGE: 47 • Forked River
Matthew J. Ensor, age 47, of Forked River passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 surrounded by his family and close friends in Philadelphia, PA. Matt was born in Point Pleasant Beach, formerly of Brick moving to Forked River in 1971. Matthew was a graduate of Monsignor Donavan in 1982. He was a member of Troup 56 Forked River, and became an eagle scout in 1982, stayed actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America as an adult serving on the camp staff and as a senior patrol leader. He loved playing golf and attending basketball and Yankee Games with his brothers and nephews. Matt was a family service specialist with the New Jersey DYFS for many years. Prior to that he was employed at H&H Gas and Appliance Company in Hightstown, NJ.
He was predeceased by his father, Melvin in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Sherie L. Ensor (nee Endreson) of 15 years; son, Matthew John Ensor; mother, Mary E. Ensor (nee Short); three brothers, Richard and his wife Deirdre, Stephen and his wife Linda, and Andrew; two brother-in-laws, John and his wife Pamela Endreson, and Gary and his wife Kathy Endreson and his in-laws John and Virginia (nee Fisher) Endreson. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, Mary, Kaitlin, Colleen, Brendan, Kiernan, and Michael Ensor, and Tiffany, Katie, and Sarah Endreson, and Many loving Aunts and Uncles.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, Forked River. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Pius X RC Church, 300 Lacey Road, interment shall follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Matthew John Ensor Education Fund.

Matt, you were A Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Godfather, and a Friend, so many things to so many people. You were a protector of children, a defender of the underdog, you gave the best Hugs, had the broadest shoulders, and the biggest Heart. Your smile was like sunshine. And your voice on the other end of the phone, was a comfort in the worst of times. And you always knew when to make a joke. You will be missed, so much by so many. You were my Hero, I was blessed to have you in my life, as a cousin and a friend, I love you, i miss you terribly.

We are so sorry for the loss of Matt. It is so hard sometimes to try to find the best words to help you through this time but the one word that comes to mind about Matt is 'peaceful'. Matt will always be remembered for the many great things he did for everyone and his memory will live on and on. Every time we hear the word 'peaceful' we will think of Matt.
