Ola Ensor Obituary
Ola Fulk Ensor devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother embarked on her eternal journey on November 19th, 2025 in Wilmington, NC at the age of 95. Born on October 3th, 1930 in Greensboro, N.C. Ola lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an indomitable spirit that inspired everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Ola was a devoted homemaker homesteader, pouring her heart into care of family and household. Her hands were never idle – she cultivated lush gardens, rode horses, and proudly assisted in raising multiple generations of grandchildren with abundant love and wisdom.
Her strength and resilience was reflected everyday as she managed her & Joe's cherished farm in Fountain Inn, S.C., while he was absent on long distance truck driving trips. She managed the land and its residents – gardens, horses, cows, pigs, geese, chickens, loyal dogs, and occasional Tom cat. Embodying the pioneer spirit of self-sufficiency and determination.
Family was the heart of Ola's life. She deeply loved her husband Joseph Miller Ensor, Sr. whom was the love of her life.
Ola's life was rich with simple pleasures and passions. With authenticity, courage, and unwavering dedication to her own path. Known for her zest for life and feisty spirit, she was often thought of as a "tough woman" and lovingly remembered as "a hoot."
Preceded in death by her parents, Esker Turner Fulk, Lela Myrtle Fulk Hall, loving sibling Colene Frances Fulk, her loving husband Joseph Miller Ensor, four of her children, Deborah Hollyfield, Joseph M. Ensor, Jr., Linda D. Matthews, Janet M. Strickland. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and love for her surviving daughter, Colene F. McAbee, and a large loving family including, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great -grandchildren. Her best buddy, the Bernedoodle Sully, also held a special place in her heart.
Ola's life will be celebrated early next year during a service in Fountain Inn, S.C., to be announced by her family.
Her enduring spirit will continue to inspire all those who carry her memory in their hearts. Her life's journey, beautifully, bespoke, was truly lived her way.
