Maureen Galvin Obituary
Jersey City - Maureen A. Galvin, 80, a native of Jersey City, with a little hesitation, supported by her family, went to heaven to talk to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph January 23 with her family by her side . With the exception of a few years working, she took delight in raising Laura Hauschildt, Dennis J. Galvin, and Joan McDermott(Jay), and then spent the rest of her life being a devoted grandmother to Megan Anderson (Chris), Joe Hauschildt (Catherine), Sean Hauschildt (Rachel), Ryan McDermott(fiancée Jamie), Devin McDermott, Colin McDermott, Griffin McDermott, Erin McDermott, Denny Galvin, and Dana Galvin. Great-grandmother to CJ, Maggie, and Jack Anderson. She is also survived by her sister , Karen Palmieri of Belmar, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her life was devoted to attending countless dance recitals, lip sync contests, concerts, and athletic events as well as hosting family get-togethers.
Visitation will be Sunday January 27 from 3 to 6PM at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00AM at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary RC Church, 424 Lincoln Avenue, Avon NJ. Committal will follow at Saint Anne Cemetery, Wall Twp.
Maureen loved children and donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org, would be appreciated.
