Maureen Urbaniak Obituary

Maureen Urbaniak

Marlboro - On January 6th, 2018, Maureen Veronica Urbaniak, a long time resident of Marlboro, left this earthly life behind to join a choir of heavenly angels above. Born on October 26, 1935 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Maureen dedicated her life to supporting and nurturing those around her. Her graceful spirit and compassionate heart inspired those she met at local schools, touched the souls of her fellow volunteers at St. Gabriel's Parish, and moved the many colleagues she worked with throughout the years. Maureen was also lifelong learner, who received her Associates of Arts Degree from Brookdale Community College in 1991 and continued her quest for knowledge through the completion of various classes to include art, poetry, political science, and English. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 56 years, Frank, her adoring children and their spouses James Urbaniak (Sara Pocock), Susan Vadeika (Erik Vadeika), Kathleen Marzynski (Ted Marzynski), Joy Urbaniak (Florian Voelckers), her doting grandchildren, Severn and Esme Urbaniak, Thomas, Mark, and Andrew Vadeika, Kate, Kaylee, and Reese Marzynski, her loving sisters, Geraldine Fedor and Patricia Ypelaar, and countless fond memories with her many nieces and nephews. Everyone that has had the pleasure of knowing Maureen, has truly been better off for it, and we will all continue to carry her sweet song, sung from high above, deep within our hearts.

Memorial Services will be held on January 19th from 1pm-3pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E Main St, Freehold, NJ 07728. The Funeral Mass will be held at the historic old St. Gabriel's church (not main St. Gabriel's) 549 Route 520 (Newman Springs Road) 07746 on January 20th 10am.
