Michael Haimowitz Obituary
Neptune City - Michael Haimowitz, 51, of Neptune City, NJ, died on August 24, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1970. He was a graduate of Middletown Township High School North and later received his Associate of Occupational Studies from the Culinary Institute of America.
Michael travelled the world in search of unique culinary experiences and his career took him through renowned kitchens in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York and New Jersey. At the time of his death he was the Executive Chef for Deal Country Club. Michael was very passionate about not only creating delicious dishes for his clients, but also for feeding those in need. He was a big advocate for feeding the world, and would often help raise money for the World Central Kitchen.
Surviving are his father, Harrison Haimowitz; two brothers, Joseph (Sharon Kozicki) Haimowitz and Thomas (Sarah Haimowitz) Haimowitz; and his nieces Lila and Madeline Haimowitz. Michael was preceded in death by mother, Carol Haimowitz.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, with further details to be announced at PflegerFuneralHome.com. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Michael's name to the World Central Kitchen (please see link at the bottom of the page for donations) or a local food bank of your choice.
