Patrick Angelo Obituary

Patrick D' Angelo

AGE: 82 • Bradley Beach, formerly of Staten Island

Patrick D' Angelo, 82 of Bradley Beach, formerly of Staten Island, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend died peacefully after a courageous battle at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on February 26th, 2016. Patrick was born on the lower east side of Manhattan to Joseph and Rosalie D' Angelo. He moved to Staten Island in 1954 to wed his childhood sweetheart, the late Rosalie D'Angelo. While on Staten Island he was a parishioner of St. Sylvester Church and lived in Concord from 1954-1982. He attended Seward Park High school in Manhattan and left at the age of 17 to work in a sponging factory. He served in the U.S Navy with an honorable discharge and was also a member of the American Legion in Neptune NJ as well as the Italian American club. He worked most of his life in the garment industry and went on to own his own business. He spent summers in Bradley Beach since a young boy. Upon retirement he relocated to Bradley Beach permanently. After retirement, he became a councilman of Bradley Beach taking pride in the town he loved. He served on the mayor's council as special assistant to the mayor. He received many awards and citations and secured many grants in Bradley Beach. After serving Bradley Beach Borough, he went on to serve the NJ state senate as sergeant of arms. Affectionately known as "Patty Chains" and "Patty D" to all. He always looked forward to rooting for the N.Y Yankees and playing his daily numbers. Our dad was a fixture at Monmouth Park table # 53 and Cliff Avenue Beach. He spent every winter for the past 40 years in the Caribbean Islands and Aruba. He will be remembered by all as a person who was full of life. He could be seen driving daily around Bradley Beach making stops at Delponte Bakery, Perfect Perk Coffee Shop, Borough Hall and the Public Works or sitting/sleeping on his front porch worshipping the sun with banana boat tanning oil. He was also known for pocket dialing anyone at anytime, day or night.

He is survived by his daughter Rosalie Dragonetti and her husband Gerard of Staten Island, son Joseph D'Angelo and his wife Anna of Aberdeen, Mary Marchese and her husband Richard of Holmdel. Pat is also a proud grandfather to 6 handsome amazing grandsons Richard Marchese, Keith Dragonetti, Patrick D'Angelo, Justin Dragonetti, Nicholas Marchese, and John D'Angleo. Pat is also survived by his sister Jane Pignatelli and her husband Michael, sister-in-laws Mildred Conoscenti and her husband Mickey, Marie Marino and Jackie Wills.

Friends and family are invited to view from 4pm-8pm on Sunday, February 28th, 2016 at Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 29th, 2016 at 11am at the Ascension Church located at 501 Brinley Ave, Bradley Beach followed by a private cremation. Rest In Peace Bradley Beach has lost a great man who would get up early and stay up late for the people of this town I ran against him and know how much he missed that office. Pat was hard core and a real man even when he was wrong he was well trained to let it go fast. To his family he was a gent who will be missed RIP Pat
