I met Paul when we were in high school. He was living in Middletown by then. We clicked immediately we were both fans of the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Mets and remained best friends forever. Paul liked everybody and everybody liked Paul. Paul was a big guy that had an even bigger heart. He would do anything for his family and friends and he had many friends. I considered Paul one of my closest and best friends, and I know that their are many other friends that feel the same way about him as I do. Paul was everybody's best friend. What I think I will remember most about Paul is that he Loved Life,he Loved to have a Good Time, and I will Never Ever Forget his Laugh he was always Laughing. He squeezed more Life and Fun in 55 years than most people do in 100 years. We are Blessed to know Paul as a Father, a Brother, an Uncle, and as a Friend. Good Bye Paul
You are Loved by Many.

My sincere, deepest, and heartfelt sympathy to the McLernan family, and to the many friends and relatives that were very dear to him. I worked indirectly with him while he was dispatching in the late 80's and early 90's for Eklof Marine. He will be very sorely missed by all of his wonderful friends who were very fortunate to have known him or had the pleasure of working with him. Rest In Peace, Paul

My heart goes out to all who had the privlege to know Paul. I know he was a proud father, who always spoke of PJ, Erin and Shanney. I know he had a close relationship with his brother Jack, who Paul still knows more about
sports than Jack does. I had alot of laughs with those two.
Paul had such an aura about him that made anyone around him feel great. He had the knack if he was talking to you
you felt like the most important person in the room.
Paul you have been my co-worker,collegue but most importantly a friend for over 25 years. You will me missed and not forgotten Big Man

Our sincere sympathy to PJ, Tara and Shannon and to all his family. Paul was our next door neighbor since 1996. We were lucky to have such a warm, kind person with such a wonderful sense of humor as a neighbor. Always enjoyed talking to him. We will miss him and I hope you guys, PJ, Tara and Shannon know how very proud he was of you. We will keep your family in our prayers.

Paul was one of the good ones. I had the pleasure of working with him, when my dad and him dispatched nights at Eklof. He had a love of reading, always smiling. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I am just heartbroken. I am truly going to miss my work buddy - the big teddy bear - who was always such a joy to talk to everyday. He was that bright light that made work fun and was always so kind and appreciative. He was so proud of his kids and was going to miss his friends as he transitioned to our Houston office. I pray for peace for his family, and so glad he is no longer in pain.
