Paul Valsamis

AGE: 90 • Brick Twp.

Paul Valsamis, age 90, of Brick Township died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Rhodes Greece and came to the U.S. in 1948 at the age of 26. He had lived in Freehold before moving to Brick in 1969. He became a chef working for many years at the Golden Bell Diner in Freehold retiring many years ago.

Surviving is his wife, Ann Frey Valsamis to whom he was married to for 59 years. Also surviving are his children, Babette Westlund of Brick, Ernst Valsamis of Toms River and Paraska Valsamis of Brick; also 1 brother, Michael of Rhodes, Greece and 1 sister, Paraska Criticer also of Greece. Paul also leaves 6 grandchildren.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Friday, September 27th from 5 :00 to 7:00 pm at Laurelton Memorial Home, 109 Pier Ave., Brick Township.

Ann, I live so close, over by Lakehurst, and haven't seen you and Paul since my brother Jack and Diana brought me to visit you--years ago. I have good memories of us in high school. So sorry at your loss. Evelyn Martyn O'Brien

I am very sorry to hear of you lost. I never met your father but I recall you speaking of what a strong man he was.
