Peter B. Beronio

AGE: 90 • Brick

After sharing his final days with his loving family, Peter B. Beronio, 90, passed away on April 26, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, he attended St. Peter's Prep and St. Peter's College of Jersey City. Peter served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. After his honorable discharge, Peter attended Ohio College of Podiatry and opened his office in Jersey City, where he practiced for 40 years. Dr. Beronio retired to Greenbriar II, Brick, in 1988. During his retirement years, Peter enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren, traveling, spending afternoons at the beach, and participating in community activities, especially billiards and social events. Peter was a deeply spiritual man and served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister, for over ten years. Peter was a lifetime member of the American Podiatric Association and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Janet Ciesla Beronio, his loving children, Peter Jr. and wife Jill, and Kathryn DiMarco and husband Michael, and his five cherished grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Maggie, Matthew, and Emily.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 30th at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after the visitation at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30th at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, Brick. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peter's memory to the 4East Nursing Unit c/o Ocean Medical Center Foundation, 425 Jack Martin Blvd., Brick, NJ 08724.
