Peter M. Wickert

Long Beach Island

Peter M. Wickert, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. Beloved husband to Joan (nee Klinger). Peter served in the military from 1953 to 1955, then received his degree from Lycoming College. He spent his summers as a member of the Beach Haven Beach Patrol. After working for American Oil for 12 years he became a full time resident of Long Beach Island, where he raised his family. Peter was bartender at Kubel's in Barnegat Light for over 20 years.

Predeceased by his daughther, Cynthia Samler, he is survived by his loving children, Jenny L. (Steve) Sprague, Peter D. (Betty) Wickert, Jeffrey M. (Mary) Wickert, Amy M. (Christopher) Haugh. Peter is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Kubel's, Barnegat Light. All are welcome to join his family.

we really had some good times at the Beach Haven Esso station in the summers Pete was in college. Happy days in the 50's with Petes' 55 Chevy Nomad.
