I am Frederick O. Lewis III, Uncle Ralph’s nephew. I will always remember Uncle Ralph as being the life of the party and having so much zest for life. He was fun, gregarious, outgoing, and used to love to sing, and I can still hear his deep baritone voice bellowing throughout Grandmom’s house. His excitement was contagious. When you were around Uncle Ralph he also made you excited, happy, and in the party mood.

One of the reasons I’ll never forget Uncle Ralph is that I know he lives through Aunt Dot, Chrissy, Judy and Ralph, because they are just like their father and loving husband.

At my home I have a little San Francisco memento that reminded me of Uncle Ralph. I remember whenever Uncle Ralph talked about San Francisco his eyes lit up and he really enjoyed talking about the city where he grew up. This little memento says. “I left my heart in San Francisco”. In the case of Uncle Ralph, he left his heart with all of us that he touched.

While attending Memorial Services for another Karp family member on 4-24, my cousin Geri Karp-Garcia, daughter of Ralph's brother Robert Karp, I sadly learned of uncle Ralph's passing from his sister, Sister Alberta Marie Karp. Let me express my concolences to the entire Ralph Karp family. Most of us have never met but we still share a kinship which binds us together. My thoughts & prayers are with you. My mother was the late Beatrice Karp Kurpinsky. My dad, also named Jim, sends his prayers & thoughts.
