Richard M. O'Connor

Middletown - Richard M. O'Connor, 65, of Middletown, NJ, died on March 3, 2018 in Red Bank, NJ. He was born in Queens, NY to the late Richard and Mary O'Connor. Richard worked as a Sales Manager for Proctor & Gamble until his retirement 14 years ago. He was an active member of St. Mary's Parish. For many years, he refereed basketball for both parochial and public schools. Rich enjoyed going to Atlantic City, working outdoors and spending time with his beloved family and friends. However, he will be most remembered as the "go to guy" who everyone could rely on. Rich was a man for others whose love for life was reflected in his kindness and generosity towards all.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Kathleen (nee Kennedy); his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Staci O'Connor III; his daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Justin Krusius; his two granddaughters, Aria and Lucy; and his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Joseph Paccione; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Charles Gates, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5-8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 9, 2018 at 8 am at the funeral home followed by a 9:15 am Mass at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. My deepest condolences for the O'Connor family. Richie was a fixture at St Clement gym as a referee for our CYO program. Never thought the game was the bigger than him. He just wanted to be a part of it. He will be missed. May he rest in Peace
