Toms River -
Rita Engel, 62 years old of Toms River passed away July 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York City to the late Anastasios and Fotini Sarris on September 18, 1955.
Rita was a computer programmer for the County of Ocean in Toms River. She was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River where was actively involved in The Daughters of Penelope and Philoptochos helping those in need.
She is survived by her loving husband Paul S. Engel, her brother Dr. John Sarris (Elizabeth) . Brother in law Peck Engel (Ida), sister in law Janice Manning (Kevin), beloved nieces and nephews Christina, Tom, Nick, and Andrea Sarris, Kevin Manning(Brooke) John Manning(Lauren). She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews and several cousins and many friends she loved dearly.
Visiting hours will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River NJ. 08753. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church 2200 Church Rd, Toms River NJ 08753 at 10 am, services will begin at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park 1722 Silverton Rd. Toms River, NJ. 08753
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. www.silvertonmemorial.com.
