Rita Mazza

AGE: 93 • Tinton Falls

Rita Mazza, 93, of Eatontown, passed away at Chapin Hill Senior Center on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. She was a resident of Red Bank most of her life until her move to Eatontown in 1980 and then to Atria Senior Center, Tinton Falls, in 2006. Rita was a waitress for Petersons Restaurants in Red Bank and Middletown before retiring. She was also a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church and a Meals on Wheels volunteer for nearly 20 years.

Rita was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Mazza Sr. in 1989. She is survived by her son, Anthony Jr., of Highlands; daughter, Josephine Cocuzza, of Red Bank; her 96 year old sister, Philomena Arkle, of Needham, MA; 4 grandchildren, Laura Mazza, Michelle, Deborah and Frank Bevacqua and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 5th, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 6th, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Bridge Ave. & Chestnut St., Red Bank. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Rita's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., STE 251, Denville, NJ 07834 or online at www.alz.org.

Anthony and Jo I am sorry for your loss. Aunt Rita was my favorite. We had great times when I used to bus for her at the Perkins Pancake House. I love you all.
