Brother Robert was my 5th grade teacher at Good Shepherd School in NYC in 1985. I just heard about his passing through an old friend, and I am deeply saddened. To this day, he was the best teacher I've had -- including professors at West Point and Harvard. Brother Robert made a huge impression on me as a young man and taught me a lot of important ideals that carry with me to this day. I lost track of him and tried to find him online a couple of years ago, but was unsuccessful. I really wish that I could have told him in person that he was a great teacher, a great influence, and a great example. Thank you, Brother Robert -- Rest in Peace.

Dear Gabe, Brothers, and family members:
I was saddened to learn of the death of your dear brother and our Brother, Robert Fagan, FSC At times such as these, words are unable to carry the full message of comfort and consolation which we want them to bear, but they are all we have. Having experienced the death of my father in 1995, I am aware of the deep emotions which accompany such a loss. Be sure of continued remembrance of him in my prayers and those of all the Brothers here at Lewis.
May the Lord continue to hold you and all your family in the hollow of his hand and may you find his comforting presence in the silent power of prayer, in the wisdom of the Scripture, the beauty of the liturgy, and in all his holy people gathered round you to help you.
I join my voice to the ancient hymn of the early Church:
May the angels lead him into Paradise.
May the martyrs come and welcome him on his way
And lead him into the holy city, Jerusalem.
May the choirs of angels welcome him.
And with Lazarus, who once was poor,
May he have everlasting life. Amen.
I close with the traditional prayer which we Brothers have prayed for over three hundred years:
Live Jesus in our hearts--Forever.
With sympathy and promise of prayers,Your Brother,
Kris Patzner-Sprangers

Brother Rob was MY athletic trainer at St Mary's University in Winona, MN for 3 years. He was one of the most compationate people I have known. I have rheumatoid arthritis and played college basketball there with his help. He trained me to allow pain to be easier through his after practice care in the training room. I* don't know how I would ahve mentally and physically done it without his kind words and extra attention to my special needs. He made playing college basketball a 'dream' come true so to say! I wish I could attend his funeral but I am far.....we exchanged letters every so often through the year but never got to re-connect and see each other. I will always regret not being able to shake his hand one last time! You have a fine friend and man in brother Rob be proud of all he did that you may never know, like little ol me!
