To Bob's Family, Bob was a special friend. He and I were classmates at Rutgers and through different channels joined the Marine Corps and met in a special way. I was in Basic School as a newly minted Officer. Bob came by to wish me all the best and to let m know that I was also special after he came back from Vietnam . I will never forget that meeting and how I look up to Bob. Semper Fi, what a great Marine and a great person. To the Petrella family, you were lucky, you had one of the best, John Fowler, USMC (R), Rutgers Class of 1966

In Italian, one would say that Bobby was..."UN VERO PERSONAGGIO" or loosely translated "a real character."
Bob was a lover of life and his family, friends, and dogs meant the world to him. I've known Bobby going all the back to the 1960's and the good old Surfside Beach Club days in West End, NJ. He was a great friend and one of the most generous people I have ever known. Now, he and his old buddy (my cousin Gerard Russoniello) are together again, and I have a feeling that somewhere in the Universe there is a great big party going on! Thanks for the memories my brother...I will miss you dearly. My deepest sympathy to Lois, Janis and the Petrella family.

To Janice and family: My sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your brother Bobby. I didn't really know him very well but I remember all the wonderful times my cousins Gerard Russoniello and Dennis Scialli spoke about with their friend. Now he and Gerard will be telling stories in heaven. May he rest in peace and may you and your family find strength in the many happy days you shared.

Cousin Bobby was a great guy and excellent host especially with the 'Tutti Cugini' parties. He was a favorite of my dad and very funny. I'm sorry I missed the last few reunions. May he rest in peace.
