He had been a resident of The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville, PA since November 2002. Parents: Edward and Margaret (Butt) Weiss. He grew up in Lakewood, NJ and lived there until 1963. He then took a work promotion (Jersey Central Power & Light) moving to Hightstown, NJ. Married his high school sweetheart, Muriel Hankins, June 10, 1944.

Predeceased by his wife, Muriel Hankins Weiss, July 19, 1982. Sisters: Dorothy White and Edna Smith, both of Austin, TX. Survived by children: Christine Getz and husband, Thomas of the Villages, FL; Mary Marchiano of Pottsville, PA; Barbara Vander Jagt and husband Leonard of Altoona; and a son, Robert L. Jr. and wife, Audelia of Marysville, WA., 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving: two sisters: Helen McGuire of SC; Irene Watkins of IN; a brother, Edward of TX.

Graduate of Lakewood High School in 1942. Served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot, WWII, during 1942-1945. Retired from Jersey Central Power & Light after 35 years of service. Member of the Hightstown, NJ Rotary Club where he was a past president. Member of the Hightstown First United Methodist Church, having served on the Board of Trustees. Was an avid golfer and bridge player; also enjoyed painting and dancing. He loved flying; had his own plane, later in life
