Rose Gizzi D'Ambrosio

AGE: 98 • Long Branch

Rose Gizzi D'Ambrosio, 98, a lifelong resident of Long Branch, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. She was a communicant of the Christ the King Parish, Long Branch. She taught CCD at Holy Trinity Church for 25 years and enjoyed Bridge, reading, crossword puzzles and cooking her Italian Specialties.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Alex, in 1982; and her four sisters and five brothers. Surviving are her children, Alex and his wife Marilyn D'Ambrosio, Nina and her husband Eric Gaetjens, and Claire and her husband Douglas A. Deicke; five grandchildren, James and Matthew D'Ambrosio and their mother, Geri Lorimer; Erica Swenson, Douglas R. Deicke and Marion Carolan; a step-grandson, Jesse Callaway; and seven great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2 from the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Christ the King Parish, 280 Division St., Long Branch. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
