Rosemarie Arczynski Obituary

Rosemarie Arczynski

AGE: 82 • Eatontown

Rosemarie Arczynski (née Segeth), 82, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. She was born in Boguszowice, Poland (the Silesia Region) and lived in Eatontown for the past 41 years. Rosemarie attended Monmouth College. She was a long-term member of the Fort Monmouth Chapel, where she sang in the choir and after Fort Monmouth closed, joined St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown. She was of German descent and during her early years she was confronted with many adversities associated with war-torn Europe. She overcame them and never lost her joyful, optimistic outlook on life. Rose loved life, music and dancing. She loved the beach and walking on the boardwalk and truly loved meeting new people and spending time with friends and family. She also loved to travel and dance and passed these loves on to her children. Her greatest love of all was of her five children and eight grandchildren and she dedicated her life to them. As the wife of an army officer, Rose lived in many exciting places such as Herzogenaurach, Heidelberg, Anchorage, San Diego, Fort Bragg, Seattle, and Fort Campbell. She settled in Eatontown, NJ for her remaining years after her husband passed away at Fort Monmouth. She loved Fort Monmouth which was a central part of her life where she shopped, enjoyed the pool, used the hospital, sang in the chapel choir, and made many lasting friends there and in Eatontown.

Rose is predeceased by her husband, Colonel Louis Edmund Arczynski, who passed in 1971; her parents, Albert Segeth and Emily Machoczek; her two sisters, Ursula Segeth and Margot Mroz; and her two brothers, Theodore Segeth and Erich Segeth. Surviving Rose are her daughters and sons, Mary McGee of Atlanta, Ga., Joanne Arczynski of Eatontown, Daniel Arczynski and wife Elaine of Williamsburg, Va., John Arczynski and wife Sandra of Falls Church, Va., and Carolin Walch and husband Bruce of Long Branch. Also surviving Rose are her eight grandchildren, Shawn, Amy, Christine, John, Mary, David, Victoria, and Andrew.

Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St., Eatontown. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. at a later date. Should friends desire, the family has designated the Eatontown Fire Department and First Aid Squad for memorial contributions. Please make donations at https://www.wepay.com/donations/7952. Carolin,

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your Mom. She was such a lovely lady. I will always remember how my mom would be late getting home from the commissary and say how she ran into Mrs. Arczynski and chatted for so long they forgot the time! Truly a great lady.
