Rudolph Libenschek

AGE: 82 • Ocean

Rudolph "Rudi" Libenschek, 82 of Ocean, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Rudi was an electrical engineer for Bell Labs before retiring in 1987. He was a Professor at Ocean County College from 1989-1994 and taught sailing and navigation for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Rudi served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was an avid woodworker and craftsmen.

Rudi was predeceased by his wife, Tonian Herbert Libenschek. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Esther Libenschek; a daughter, Karen (Kit) Libenschek; 2 sisters, Nancy Lanham and Joan Gula and his granddaughter, Audrey.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association of the Northeast, 1661 Worcester Rd., Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701. Letters of condolence may be sent through the web at www.damianofuneralhome.com.
