Newfoundland, PA - Mrs. Ruth Knapp passed away on Tuesday evening at the All American Assisted Living Center in Hillsborough.

She was 82 years old. Mrs. Knapp was born in Essen, Germany and lived North Brunswick, East Orange, and Somerset before moving to Newfoundland, PA 27 years ago.

Mrs. Knapp was the Personnel Manager for KMART in Somerset for many years. She belonged to the Arora Singing Society of New Brunswick, the German American Club of North Brunswick and enjoy to knit.

Mrs. Knapp was pre deceased by her siblings Wilhelm Goebel, Gunther Goebel and Ingrid Goebel.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Knapp of Pennsylvania and their children John Knapp and his wife Barbara of Hillsborough, Michael Knapp and wife Kimberly of South Brunswick, Frank Knapp of California, Doris Lucia and her husband Jim of North Carolina, Heidi Latanzio and husband AJ of Flemington and Suzanne Walsh of Gladstone. She is also survived by her siblings Rolf Goebel and wife Karin of North Carolina, Manfred Goebel and wife Brigitta of Germany and Hella Boldt of Virginia along with 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The Knapp family will receive friends and relatives from 11 AM - 2 PM on Sunday at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset and a prayer service will begin at 1:45 PM. Please consider a contribution in Mrs. Knapp's name to The Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alz.org
