Sam was the coolest dad of all my friends growing up. Met him through my friendship with his son Charlie @ 1977. Sam was more alive than most kids my age. Taught me how to ski and laughed his a#* off as I attempted to learn. Fond memories driving up to Stowe VT in his Suburban and staying at his friend's cabin (Tom??) as well as the Bottom Notch (or was it the Top Notch??!) Motel on another visit to Ski Country North East. Joined him, Mary, Charlie and a few great pals when he & Mary went on America Today to promote their book 'How We Made a Million Dollars Renovating Old Mansions' in the late 70's. Fun times getting up super early on some Saturday mornings to go to the Englishtown Auction with our gang of friends & Sam! He and Mary finished two huge mansion renovations in the years Charlie & I were in school together; one of them was in walking distance of my parents house and that along with all the rest certainly led to adventurous, fun times. His favorite word to shout out before tackling a ski run was "Chee-sull!". Kind of like saying Geronimo, but it was a Sam Weir original. Always telling us jokes and always smiling. An amazing adult in a sea of average ones. His house on stilts on the ocean was like something out of a dream. Truly amazing architecture. The ocean was so proud of Sam's creativity that it sent him a whole bunch of kaya one magical morning. Heartwarming memories of that house and beach with Charlie, the gang and my first true love. Sam made this world a better place for all & I know we shall meet again in the heavens above. Thanks Sam for all your kindness, silliness, mad skills and love. C

Sam was the best: bright, funny, generous & ALWAYS his own man. We were close bros at Chi Phi & later we shared a rental. Sam was my Yoda. My prayers go out to Mary & the family.
