Samy Abdelmalek Obituary
AGE: 72 • Manchester
Samy A. Abdelmalek, 72, of Manchester, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at home. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt, where he resided before coming to the U.S. in 1980, settling in Middlesex, NJ. He relocated to Whiting nine years ago. Samy was a former science and math teacher while residing in Egypt and worked as a supervisor for Royal Doulton in Somerst upon his arrival in the U.S. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Church in Dunellen and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Toms River. Samy was also a life member of the Middlesex Rescue Squad and a volunteer at the Second Time Around Consignment Shop on Route 37 in Toms River for Community Medical Center.
Samy is survived by his beloved wife, Claude; his sons, Christian and Jean-Claude; his brother, Antoine Abdelmalek; his sisters, Mother Superior Simone Abdelmalek and Marie Smith and her husband Robert; and his grandson, Nathan.
Visitation for Samy will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Service will be concluded with the burial at Ocean County Memorial Park.
