AGE: 93 • Toms River
Sarah Thompson, 93, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 28, 2015 after a remarkable existence here on earth. Her life was marked by grace, intelligence and taking care of her flock. She was the youngest of Michael and Ella McCarthy's four children. Sarah was predeceased by her husband Howard David in 1984; her brothers, Michael and John; sister, Mary and her beloved grandchildren, Christine Marie Hadley and Daniel Keith Hadley. She has been patiently waiting to visit with these beloved family members and it gives us all great joy knowing she is with them.
Her surviving family members cherish her life and will miss her terribly. They are her daughters, Carol Ann Hadley and her husband Roy Jiggs Hadley and Sheila Marie Pickell; grandsons, Scott Thomas Hadley and his wife Dolores, David Bruce Hadley and his wife Josette, Randall Edward Hadley and his wife Pamela, Michael Roy Hadley and his wife Theresa and Lee Warner Pickell and his wife Corinne. Sally, as she was also known, took pride in her 9 great grandchildren ranging in ages from one to twenty-four. Her 8 Hadley grandchildren are; Brittany, Connor, Matthew, Daniel, Shane, Joia, Myles and Jocelyn. Her one Pickell grandchild, Lilyann will miss grandma Sally.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, May 30th, from 2 to 6 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday 6/3 at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to, Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
