AGE: 94 • Manchester
Sheldon Mead, 94, of Manchester passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune on October 11, 2017.
Mr. Mead served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and was on the headuarters staff for General McArthur. He was very active in Leisure Village West, especially in their theater & drama group. He was a mediator for the Ocean County court system for over 15 years.
He is survived by his two sons; Jeffrey and his wife Barbara, of Clinton, MA and Kenneth, of Santa Rose, CA.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Sunday October 15, 2017 at Temple Beth Am Shalom, Lakewood. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mr. Mead was my teacher for law class. I remember he always wore a suit to work. He spoke eloquently. And he must have had a lot of patience because I know I used to drive him crazy as I excused myself from his class way too many times to work on the senior yearbook. What an amazing life he had. I don't think I knew he was a veteran. May his memories fill all those around him with peace and love.

I had Sheldon as a teacher in Hackensack High School. He was an excellent teacher & will be missed. RIP

I rode with Sheldon for the Fair Lawn Vol. Ambulance Corps. Sheldon put many years in the Corps. Rest in peace good fellow.
