AGE: 55 • Manalapan
Susan Mulcahy Powalie, 55, of Manalapan passed away on Sunday February 5, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Elizabeth she grew up in South Amboy before moving to Manalapan. She was employed for over 25 years by UPS, Tinton Falls. She loved Broadway plays and comedy shows, concerts and going to the ocean or beach, especially the Caribbean.
Daughter of the late Robert and Catherine A. Hughes Mulcahy, she is also predeceased by her sister, Kristina Mulcahy. She is survived by her husband Ross Barth of Manalapan; her sons Craig Powalie and his wife Katherine of Jackson and Matthew Powalie of Manalapan; her daughter Brianne Powalie of Seaside; her stepdaughter Sheryl Barth of Toms River; her brothers Thomas Mulcahy of Edgewood, Maryland and Timothy Mulcahy and his wife Carole of Aberdeen; her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Donald Letts of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania and her twin sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Louis Usa of Phillipsburg; her grandson Calton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 9:15am from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's R.C. Church, South Amboy. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 136 Mountainview Blvd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 1130 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753.

My heart breaks for everyone that Sue left behind...you are all in my prayers. She fought a good fight from what I'm told and although it's been some time since I have seen her...I will never forget her smile...no one had one like hers! That's how I will always remember her..
