Thomas Cavanagh Obituary
Allenhurst - Thomas H. Cavanagh, Jr., 77 of Allenhurst, died November 17, 2020 at home. Tom was born December 14, 1942 in New York City. He attended parochial schools in New York City and in 1964 he graduated from Fordham University in the Bronx. After graduation, he followed in his father's footsteps as a sportswriter for the New York Daily News. He wrote a daily horse racing column until his retirement in 2011. Tom was predeceased by his father Thomas H. Cavanagh, Sr., in 1963 and by his mother Ethel L. Gallagher Cavanagh in 1988. The Ocean Grove Memorial Home was in charge of private funeral arrangements.
