My relationship with Ty goes back to the 1940´s in our home town of West Gate Hills, in Havertown, PA. It was a great neighborhood in the post WW2 years!!!
Again, as I mentioned in my prior message, those early years, then the togetherness with Ty, his brother Paul, working on cars, boating, and the delicious meals at his restaurants AND "Take Outs"!!!
Of equal importance is the remembrance and love the family shared in their support of Ty´s restaurants, ALL hands on deck!!!!
Fondly and with love,
Gray Whetstone

Dear Sharon, Chris, Rebecca, Carrie, and Jessica,
We are so sorry to hear about Ty's passing. He was such a generous and loving person. For more than 50 years we will always remember the days in West Gate Hills, boating on the bay in Beach Haven, great seafood dinners, and our failed attempts of putting money into the cash box for all of the seafood he generously gave to us.
We will surely miss him.
Love, Gray and Marian

Sharon, We were classmates at FCS. The night of the 50th at Lynne and George's home I stood together at back of gathering and got reacquainted with you and Tyrone. So glad we had this time together to remember. My Mother who passed away a year ago loved to tell stories of Tyrone and Lee Hunter arriving at our house whether my sister Lyn was there or not to chat with Mom and eat all the ice cream she could hand over. She was recalling this fond memory the week before she passed away at age 95. I think she thought Tyrone came to see HER. I also remember Tyrone and Lee and someone else visiting me at the Dean of Boys home when I was babysitting. Mr. Farraday came home early while the guys were there in the kitchen and I thought I would be in trouble, but Tyrone was so charming, Mr. Farraday made no fuss. I hope there is some comfort or joy in knowing the class of 1962 has so many wonderful memories of Tyrone to cherish. Love to all your family, Kathy

It's difficult to believe that Tyrone's indomitable presence and booming voice are now silent. Sharon and family¸ maybe there is solace in the fact that, for not enough years, you had complete love and joy given to you by a very special individual. Our hope is that your memories of Ty will keep you enfolded and chuckling forever.

Remembering a warm, welcoming, loud- voiced, friendly male neighbor and friend from childhood on Walnut Hill Lane, Havertown and LBI. Ty always said our Dad - Newell Havener talked his parents into moving to Beach Haven in the 50's. Glad he made a success of Lobster Claw, marriage and family!

After hearing the news of the loss of Ty, my heart instantly fell heavy. While working for Ty in college he was the main reason I looked forward to summers for over 5 years. He was such a teddy bear and such an amazing man. To this day I still talk about his funny crazy antics in The Claw and it brings such a smile to my face. He was such a support when my mom died and will forever feel like family. I only wish I went to visit after I left working at the reatuarant. My condolences to his family . You all are strong and amazing and I am so sorry.

When we think of Ty, we will always remember a hard-working man with a booming voice; someone who loved his family, supported his community, made time in his busy day to chat with friends, and was the BEST Girl Scout "Cookie Mom" of the 1980's ! Our heartfelt sympathies to you, Sharon and family, at this very sad time... Love Barbara and Dave Wright
