VIOLET ROSSI
AGE: 74 SOMERSET
Violet Rossi, died Saturday evening, Feb. 6, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 74 years old. Mrs. Rossi was born in New Brunswick and lived for many years in Somerset. She was a member of St. Ladislaus Church, New Brunswick and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, playing cards and in her younger days, playing softball.
She is survived by her children, Jo Ann Rossi-Driggers of Somerset, Anthony Rossi and his wife Barbara of Somerset, and Sam Rossi Jr. and his wife Kathy of Freehold. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Horvath and Eileen Yeagle, both of Somerset; her former husband, Sam Rossi Sr. of Somerset; her grandchildren, Joseph Driggers Jr., Darren and Timothy Driggers, Amanda, Erika and Anthony Rossi Jr., Daniel and Matthew Rossi; and a nephew, Rob Middleton.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at St. Ladislaus Church, Somerset Street, New Brunswick. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, New Brunswick. Contributions in Mrs. Rossi's name may be made to the Frankin Township Animal Shelter, 475 Dermott Lane, Franklin Township, NJ 08873 or Greyhound Friends of NJ, Inc., P.O. Box 4416, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034-0669.

Dear Rossi family,
Vi was a faithful friend, who would do everything she could possibly do to help us, especially with both Judy's and Paul's moms. She would faithfully come to the house exactly on time, even with intense pain and just keep going. She was always interested in all of our family and wanted to know how everyone was doing. She had to have everything prepared just right in taking care of Grammy March. We kidded about her going through lots of paper towels, since she wanted everything in place for Grammy's lunch and snacks. Vi was ever vigilant and caring for her children and grandchildren and would always share her joys and concerns about them. We regarded Vi as a close friend, and felt close to the Rossi family because of her. Even though we couldn't be with you at this difficult time, we miss Vi greatly and extend our deep condolences to the Rossi family.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Buffy and I have made a donation to the animal shelter in Franklin in memory of your mom.
I hope to be at the wake tomorrow night but it depends on the weather.
