William J. Iozia

AGE: 83 • Seaside Park

William James Iozia, Seaside Park, 83, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2014 surrounded by family. He was born September 25, 1930 in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late Martha and Joseph Iozia. He was predeceased by his wife Charline Iozia. He leaves five loving children James Anderson Iozia (wife Catherine) of Highland Lakes; William James Iozia II of Seaside Park; Joseph Weber (wife Ruth) of Florida; Janine A. Weber of Sparta; and Caroline Weber Sagedy of Seaside Park. Also eight grandchildren James, Kevin, Deanna, Reilly, Charlie, Christopher, Crystal, Sandra; two great grandchildren, Elisa Charline and Alex and also his sister Lorraine Sutton (husband Jimmy) of Toms River. He enlisted three days after graduation from Eastside High School in the United States Marine Corps and served proudly during the Korean War. After his discharge he was employed by Public Service Electric & Gas Co. He retired after forty four years as the Manager of Corporate Security/Investigative Services. He held various Union and Management positions. He was a former Officer of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1338. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from William Paterson College and a Master of Science degree from New York University. He was an Adjunct Professor at William Paterson College. He was a member of the Mount View Masonic Lodge #154 and Salaam Temple Shriners for 55 plus years. He was one of the founding members of the Wayne Presbyterian Church. He is an ordained Elder of the church and was one of the founding members of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (MCLEF) serving as the Executive Secretary. As a member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation he served as a Director of the Ellis Island Foundation. He was one of the founders of the Bergen County 200 Club and served as President. Was one of the founders of the Passaic County 200 and served as President of that club. He was also the President of the Electric & Gas Utility Security Association and the Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute. He was a proud lifelong NY Giants fan and season ticket holder for 54 years.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm for a Memorial Gathering at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ.
