Zachary Kane Obituary
AGE: 26 • Toms River
Zachary R. "Zach" Kane, of Toms River, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
Zach was a 26 year old kind soul who adored family, friends, boating, Animals and sports, especially football.
He was a standout linebacker at Toms River High School North in 2007 when the team finished 12-0, its 1st undefeated season in 39 years.
Zach also was named the Associated Press all state 1st team and Asbury Park defensive Player of the Year.
He had an infectious smile, contagious laugh, and compassionate heart.
He made friends with all he met. He will be truly missed by all.
Zach is survived by his parents Paul and Maggie Kane, brother Kyle, sister Danielle Kennelly and her husband Andrew; nephew Liam, grandfather Robert Kuntz and his girlfriend Maria DiTommaso.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Tuesday 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 412 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753. Mass will be Tuesday 11:30 AM at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Toms River, followed by the burial at Ocean County Memorial Park. Condolences can be sent to: www.carmonabolenfh.com

Dear Kane family,
I am truly at a lost of words to express my deepest sympathy to all of you. It has taken me awhile to write this, but I felt a need to write about a time when my daughter gave me a kitten for Christmas and Zach came to the house and saw him. We named the kitten Cookie, and Zach just loved this kitten. I remember one day I came home from work and asked my daughter where Cookie was, and she said that Zach brought him to his house so he wouldn't be alone. I also remember seeing Zach with this tiny kitten sleeping on his shoulder, and thought wow here is this big kid with this small kitten sleeping, just pulled at my heart strings.
Rest in peace Zach, and I am sure Cookie found you, and he is resting on your shoulder as I am writing this.

Zach Kane was one of the best role models I ever had. I even wore #34 because I looked up to him as a young football player and eventually transfered to north. He became a friend and a mentor, and I will never forget the impact he had on my life and football career. Rest in Peace big dog. @zkr62012

We were all so shocked and saddened to hear about Zach's passing. I sat with Zach one day as part of his training and I remember he took in what I had to say with interest and was genuinely interested in helping people. He made friends easily and will truly be missed. It is always especially difficult when someone so young is taken but I believe God does that because he has special plans for his newest angel. My prayers go out to you at this most sad time.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Kane family. My best memories on the football field were shared with Z from the time we were 8 until the end of high school. I'll never forget riding dirt bikes, hanging out after pop warner practice and just enjoying the friendship I had with Zach. As a friend he always had your back and kept you laughing 24/7. I love you buddy and I'll miss you. Again, thoughts and prayers are with the family.

As one family to the next we are so deeply sorry for the most difficult of all losses. Please know that your family and Zach are in our thoughts and in our prayers.
As I read the wonderful memories from your friends and family I realize that the warmth that we all saw and instantly felt from Zach is what made him special and is what I remember most about him.
There was a gentleness about him.

I worked upstairs and saw him occasionally. We spoke a couple of times but always said hello when passing each other in the parking lot or in the building. He was always so friendly and always had a smile on his face. I could tell he was a wonderful person. His beautiful smile and friendly demeanor will definitely be missed. So very sad for him and his family.

My deepest sympathy to his family , friends and girlfriend with the loss of Zach. I worked with Zach at Allstate and he always had that infectious smile that lite up a room. When he smiled which was all the time his eyes smiled too with such happiness . You could tell he loved life and people .
