Arlan Moore Obituary


Arlan "Gus" Richard Moore passed away at the age of 77 at his home in Grimes on March 29, 2015. He was born in Woodland, CA on August 7, 1937 to the late Richard and Elizabeth Moore.

Gus lived in Grimes his entire life. He graduated from Pierce High School in 1955. Gus worked on his ranch for over 50 years. In his early years, he enjoyed fishing and going on hunting trips with his friends. Later in life, he enjoyed going for drives on his ranch and looking for deer, eating out, reading books, spending time at his home in Fort Bragg and his two dogs, Sadie and Gracie.

Gus is survived by his three children, Joni (Mike) Geyer, Pete (Mary Ellen) Moore, and Mary (Jimmy) Yacavace. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gus Geyer, Maggie (Chuy) Ruiz, Ellie Geyer, Cody Moore, Zach Yacavace and Logan Yacavace; along with three great grandchildren, Ava, Joseph and Michael Ruiz. Along with his children, Gus is survived by his step children, Kathy (Paul) Sankey and Robert Ruiz; and his step grandchildren, Brett and Alyssa Sankey. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Moore.

Gus was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Moore, and his wife of 37 years, Patricia Moore.

Graveside services will be held at the Grand Island Cemetery on Tuesday, April 7 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
