Arley Mills Obituary
February 2, 1934 to August 7, 2021
Long time Live Oak resident Arley Delano Mills passed peacefully at home August 7, 2021. Born to Tandy and Madgie Mills February 2, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Ok.
Arley moved from Oklahoma to Live Oak, Ca. at 5 years old. At a young age he found a love for farming, hard work and sports. He attended Live Oak High School where he was a stand out in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated in 1953 when he meet the love of his life Glenn Onstine, they were married July 17, 1953.
After High School Arley served in the Army where he spent time playing football and protecting the Panama Canal at the end of the Korean war. After serving, Arley came home to his bride and raised a family of four in Live Oak, Ca. He spent 20 years as a mechanic before pursuing his dream of farming. He bought a ranch in Live Oak where he farmed Walnuts, Almonds, Prunes and Kiwi's.
Arley coached his three sons in Little League, was an avid bowler and loved going to dances with their many long time friends. He and Glenn spent many fun years in the Reno League at Yuba City Bowl.
Arley and Glenn spent their years in retirement vacationing above Philbrook lake. In 1996 they realized their dream by building a family cabin at Jones Meadows and spent many summers enjoying their family and friends there.
Arley is survived by daughter Pam (Dave) Clark, sons Duane (Pearl) Mills, Russell Mills and Bradley (Mary) Mills.
He is also survived by ten grandchildren Nicole (Jason) Sawatzky, Brian (Julie) Clark, William (Alesha) Mills, Kyle (Saber) Mills, Brianna (JR) Gould, Kristen Mills (David Gray), Tandi (Hector) De La Fuente, Jeremy (Emily) Mills, Zachery (Jamie) Mills, Meaghan Mills and 19 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Live Oak Cemetary September 7, 2021 at 11:00 am.
