Bobbie LaBrue Obituary

Bobbie LaBrue

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobbie (Brotherton) LaBrue, on August 21, 2025.

She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend from Sutter, CA. She was the much beloved wife of Clarence LaBrue, for 48 years, before his death in January of 2016.

Bobbie was born December 4, 1947, in Colusa, CA, to Robert and Mildred Brotherton. She attended both Colusa and Sutter Union High Schools.

Bobbie was a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to creating a warm, welcoming home filled with kindness, laughter, and unconditional love.

In her younger years, she enjoyed camping with her family, fishing, and taking long drives around the Buttes.

Throughout her life, she had a spirited passion for playing cards, especially Texas Hold-Em. It was around the card table that her joyful spirit made her many friends.

In her later years, she loved gardening, cooking, and spending endless hours with her grandchildren. Whether surrounded by old friends or meeting new ones, she had an innate ability to bring people together, and make everyone feel like family.

The sound of her laughter while playing cards will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and love her. Her greatest joy and legacy is her family, who will always cherish her love, wisdom, and the countless memories she gifted them.

Though she may no longer be at our side, her gentle spirit and laughter will live on in all who had the privilege of sharing in her life. She and her favorite saying "I love you Sweetie" will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Brotherton; father, Robert Brotherton; and daughter, Dustie LaBrue, who died during childbirth.

Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Lori (LaBrue) Rogers, and her husband, Ryan Rogers; her daughter, Shannon (LaBrue) Velazquez and her husband, Dan Velazquez; grandchildren, Michael Walberg and his wife, Molly, Christian Walberg, Mason Rogers, and Mackenzie Rogers; sisters, Sheryl (Brotherton) Armstrong, and Donna (Brotherton) Taws; numerous nieces and nephews; and eight cherished great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Gigi".

Bobbie and Clarence will be laid to rest together on September 19, 2025, at 11 AM, at the Sutter Cemetery with a Celebration of Life luncheon to follow.

Bobbie,
You were such a remarkable woman. A true blessing. You were more than just our neighbor, you and the girls became family. You´re deeply missed by us all. I can still hear your laughter, see your smile and feel your hug. I miss our chats, hearing my phone go off and seeing your name come up. We simply just miss you. I find comfort in knowing you´re finally with your beloved and your baby girl. Until we see you again sweet friend, hugs and love, always.

Bobbie was like my sister. We talked on the phone many times and we went to visit her as often as she wanted company. We went out to dinner many times with Clarence & Bobbie. Bobbie & Stan would gag because Clarence & I would order liver & onions. Gosh, we shared so many stories. There is one story when Bobbie was cooking pork chops and I had called. Clarence told me the she was cooking and when I said,"pork chops are my favorite. He told me to come on over and when I said I had my pjs on he said, " come over anyway." So, I put a bathrobe over my clothes, wore my slippers and we all had a good laugh.

I am so sorry to hear about Bobbie, I loved spending time with her as in the summers when I spent time with our Grandmother Carrie. She was a sweet child and unfortunately, we didn't get time to stay close as adults, you will be missed
