Brett Butler Obituary
Brett Allen Butler, 44, peacefully passed on August 21, 2025, at his home, in Gridley, CA. Brett was born in Yuba City, CA, on August 30, 1980, to Barry Butler and Debra Butler (Milani).
Brett was a passionate and talented outdoorsman. As a small child, he developed a love for hunting, fishing and farming, just like his Dad.
Brett graduated in 1999, from Live Oak High School, attended Butte College and graduated from WyoTech. He eventually went back to farming, his true calling.
In 2011, Brett married Andrea Terry and they were blessed with two beautiful children. His sons, Frank Ross, and Reed Allen, were the light, pride, and joys of his life.
Brett attended every game possible. He coached little league and assisted the kids with joy. He passed on his love of nature and wildlife to his sons. Brett was an excellent teacher and harnessed a wealth of knowledge in agriculture, wildlife preservation, hunting, sports, music, art, politics and much more.
Brett was an active member of numerous wildlife associations. He loved the San Francisco Giants, enjoying many great games at the ballpark with family and friends.
He cherished working and hunting the land, that he once did with his father. His happiest times were early mornings in the duck blinds at the Hoodoo and Tiger Island, where he witnessed and photographed magnificent heaven sent sunrises. He also enjoyed many memorable deer hunts in Chester, CA.
Brett was a remarkable human being, extremely proud father, loving son, the best uncle, brother to many, adored by his family and anyone that truly knew him.
His shining smile, famous bear hugs, thoughtful gestures and sweet chuckles will be forever thought of and deeply missed.
Brett leaves behind his beloved sons, Frank and Reed Butler; their mother, Andrea Terry Butler; his mother, Debra Milani Greenberg; and stepfather, Dr. Stuart Greenberg; his sister, Angela Butler; his adored nieces, Arianna, and Jayden; great-nephew, Matthew; his aunts, Carol and Nanci (Jim); Milani uncles, Robert, Jeff, Richard and Gregg; his cousins, Adam, Ericha, Tina, Anthony, Nick, and Chistopher; his huge family of friends; and his precious labs, Betty and Amos.
Brett joined his Dad in heaven; along with grandparents, Blair and Roberta Butler, Dr. Robert Milani and Marcia Milani; aunt, Gayle; uncle, Rick; and his dearly missed fur babies, Gretchen and his first Famous Amos.
A service will be held at Ullrey's Memorial Chapel, on the grass, on Saturday, September, 13, 2025, at 11 AM.
