Daniel Roger Langlois Sr. passed away peacefully May 10, 2019 at Adventist Rideout Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born November 21, 1942 in Madison Wisconsin.
At age 17 living in Modesto, California, he joined the Air Force and served at Beale AFB. In 1963, at the conclusion of his service, during his "going away" party, he met the love of his life, Nina Grigory. He married her and moved to Yuba City to be with her and her two sons Buddy and Russell Dickens.
He then worked multiple jobs at Beale A.F.B, Linda Auto Parts, and Marysville Auto parts for several years to provide for his growing family. In 1967, Dan and Nina had their first son, Daniel Jr. Then in 1972 they had their second son, Tony.
A short time after, in 1975, Dan decided to open Dick's Auto Parts salvage yard with his friend Dick Sanchez. His warm friendly personality and commitment to being a fair and honest businessman served him well as he made numerous friends with his customers and associates over the years. Dan proudly ran Dick's Auto Parts in Yuba City for over twenty years. He finished his working career managing Sanchez Truck Repair & Towing in Yuba City.
Dan loved football, family BBQs, auto and boat racing and Hot rod cars. His favorites being his yellow 1957 Chevy pickup and his blue 1957 Chevy sedan. Both of which he has owned for over thirty years.
His greatest joy was working with his three sons to fully restore and modify both Chevys to his liking and to cruise them to car shows with his sons where he could meet up with his friends and share stories. Dan loved bonding with his friends, helping to rebuild their cars, and he was always eager to help someone in need, quick to load up his tools and work into the night to ensure his friend's cars were working for them. He was active in the community, a loyal Mason and an avid fisherman with many 1st place fishing tournament trophies.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Nina Lois Langlois; his three sisters Carol, Mary and Delores; his brother Timothy and his stepson Buddy Dickens.
Dan is survived by his two sons, Daniel Langlois Jr. and his wife Lesley and their three children; Tony Langlois and his wife Ronda and their five children; and his stepson Russell Dickens and his five children. He had eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Dan's Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Sutter Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at Hillcrest Catering Plaza, Room 210, Julie Dr., Yuba City.
