David Kubich Obituary


David Andrew Kubich passed away peacefully, after a brief illness on August 4 2016; it was his 71st birthday.

David was born in Oakland CA. in 1945 to Joseph and Edna Kubich. He moved to Grass Valley when he was 13 years old.

David attended Hennessy School and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1963. He bravely served in Vietnam earning a Purple Heart and completing 2 tours of duty.

David returned from Vietnam in 1969 and went into business with his father, eventually branching out on his own and developed a thriving lumber company.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Kubich (née Schaefer), daughters Sandra Denise Kubich and Amee Kathleen Kubich, his mother Edna Kubich Sirago, step father William Sirago, brother Mark Kubich and sister Marsha Kubich McHugh.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., on Wednesday, August 17 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Thursday, August 18 at New Elm Ridge Cemetery, Kidder Avenue, Grass Valley where military honors will be rendered. 

A reception will follow at Nevada City Elks Lodge, 518 Highway 49, Nevada City. Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
