Donald Goodman Obituary

Donny passed away suddenly on December 18, 2024.

He was born in Yuba City, CA, on January 15, 1964 to loving parents, Donald and Carol Goodman, who he is preceded in death by.

He is survived by his sister, Connie Goodman; his beloved dog, Chicles; aunts; uncles; cousins; and countless friends.

It's a daunting task to surmise the depth and scope of the character and life of those well loved by many.

He was in total, the embodiment of the name, Goodman, of which from start to finish, he was.

There was no person or project he undertook that he did not invest all of himself. He did things on "Don Time" and it wasn't complete unless it met his standards.

He worked at Yuba College for 29 years until retiring in 2019. He began his career at the Woodland Campus as a Grounds Maintenance Technician, then transferred to the main Yuba College Campus.

He furthered his career to become a building maintenance worker, leaning on his previous experience in the commercial HVAC industry and his years of mechanical aptitude through automotive diagnosis and repair.

Donny loved working on cars, boating, and drinking beer with friends. His loss is immeasurable and he will be missed.

He will be interred in Willows Cemetery in the family plot.

There will be a future announcement of a Celebration of Life in the spring.

Sometimes in life, there are losses. Losses that can never really be replaced losing Donny has been the hardest thing I´ve ever had to live with. I wasn´t ready to say goodbye. I wasn´t ready to let him leave. I would give anything for just one more day, just one more second. But I´ve learned to trust in unconditional love. Because one profound thing about death is that love never dies. Some bonds cannot be broken. Because even though you´re not physically here, your heart is. It lives on within all of us. I carry your heart inside mine. I carry it on days when I discover something new I carry it on days when beauty unfolds in the most unexpected places. I carry it on the days when I had the courage to heal and to grow. I carry it with me always. Someday we will meet again, and we will no longer be separated by time or space. Until that day, I´ll find comfort and knowing that you are still with me, your heart safely tucked inside mine. Some hearts just belong together and nothing will ever change that. I loved you then I love you now, and always did always will forever in my mind forever in my heart I will carry you.
