I met Clay in high school. He was kind, generous, and had a terrific sense of humor! I enjoyed seeing him occasionally over the years. Always with a big smile and a warm hug.
Clay you gave your family and friends wonderful memories to share.

On behalf of the Soto Family, I would like to thank everyone who left such kind words about Clay. What you read, is TRULY who he was. To me, he was "The Claymiester", a Genuine person. For years, I would introduce him as my soon to be Brother in Law. We always got a kick out of that. I will miss my Pomegranate Picking Partner. Rest in Peace Claymiester, till we meet again.

I went to school with Clay and I probably haven't seen him in 50 years, but the obituary did bring up a couple of memories for me.
Many of his fellow 7th and 8th grade classmates were impressed with his superb ability to pull wheelies on a ten speed bike, he wasn't shy about showing this skill off.
We won the city 8th grade flag football championship. Coach Ettles (RIP), in his first year of teaching, coached our Lincoln Red team. In a drill, he had a ball carrier run through a gauntlet of "defenders" who would try to grab the carrier's flag. The defenders were getting a bit bored as it was so easy to snag the flag, that is, until Clay came through. He was spinning and weaving so much we didn't stand a chance. Coach was sure to highlight Clay's action and let us know that this was how it should be done.

Clay has been a friend of mine forever! He was quite the adventurer and I might add, there was never a dull moment. He loved to laugh and joke around! It seems he also enjoyed a night out at the casino!

He was a jack of all trades and a master of one. He could fix about anything but first and foremost, he was an awesome brick layer! Clay was passionate about his work as a mason! No job was too big or too small.

May god bless his family during this difficult time.

In Memory of Clay: A Man Who Served Love with Laughter and a Side of Humor

Clay was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel valued, cherished, and, above all, loved. Whether it was through his delicious home-cooked meals, always served with a side of good conversation, or his quick wit that could crack anyone up, he brought joy to all who knew him. His ability to make even the hardest days lighter is something that will be dearly missed.

Clay wasn´t just a provider of great food and humor-he was a true friend. He had a heart that was always ready to help, no matter how unusual the task. I´ll never forget the last time I saw him-he was heading over to a friend´s house to help give a cat an enema. Yes, that´s the kind of friend Clay was, always there when you needed him, even if the situation was... unique. That was his essence: always putting others first, even in the most unexpected of circumstances.

He left a mark on everyone he met-his generosity, kindness, and laughter will live on in the stories we share and the love he spread every single day. We were all better for having known him.

My Dearest Clay, My memories of us in the 30 years we were together will never leave my heart. There were so many beautiful times we spent just taking long drives , laughing and joking around like we were the only two people in love.Sure,we had our little Quarrels but we always talked them out by you saying something funny and making it all go away .You were the most patient and understanding man that I had ever met. Our love was rare.We never got married like we were going to this year but in our eyes and in the eyes of our family and friends ,we were married .Clay ,for as long as I live ,I will never know or find anyone who made my life complete. I feel so close to you now that I have brought you home
I love you baby, always and for ever
