Edward Stratton Obituary


Edward Stratton Jr., 92, of Olivehurst, CA, passed away Friday, May 27th, 2022, at home with family by his side. He was born October 20th, 1929, in Tram, KY. He was the son of the late Edward and Anna Osborne Stratton of Kentucky.

Ed joined the United States Air Force at age 22. He served in Southeast Asia from 1969-1970 and was a member of the VFW, Post #98 in Marysville. Ed was an instructor and taught some of the systems for the SR71 at Beale Air Force Base. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service.

After retirement, Ed and his wife, Suzie, remained in Olivehurst and raised their family.
Ed was a member of the Masonic Enterprise Lodge #70 in Yuba City and was a recipient of the Hiram Award. He also learned to fly a single-engine Cessna at age 62. In his later years, he spent most mornings in the donut shop in Linda talking with friends.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Suzie Stratton, Olivehurst, CA; two sons, Larry (Stephanie) Stratton, Twentynine Palms, CA, and Gary Stratton, Olivehurst, CA; daughter, Dawn (Ryan) Huckabone, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, at 1:00pm at Sierra View Cemetery in Olivehurst.
