Dear Jim and Esther,
I never had the privelege of meeting Eric, but I have been praying for all of you since we heard of his illness. A Prayer Blanket was made by my church, Hallwood Nazarene, to remind Eric that we were all praying for him. I will continue to pray for you as God heals your grief and gives you assurance that Eric is at peace in His Arms.

To the family of Eric Fowler,
I have known Eric since Kindergarten at Notre Dame. We played on the soccer team together, we went to Woodleaf together, and we sat next to one another on our lunch break. After the 6th grade I moved to Southern California and left everything behind. I was gone for a total of five years before I returned to Marysville for my senior year at Marysville High. Many of my old friends did not seem to notice much, but Eric was not one of them. Eric and I talked about our trip to Woodleaf and the massive snowball fight we got in with another school. I was comforted to see that after five long years, Eric was still a loyal friend. Eric was always selfless, and I never knew him to be dishonest. He was never aggressive toward anyone, and I never saw him have hatred towards anybody. Eric was a genuinely good man with a big heart. I will miss you Eric.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Eric's Family. I know this must be a horrible time for you all. I really wish that I could be there for the Mass at St. Joseph's Church, but I am not able to leave my duty station in Hawaii. Please know that I will be there in spirit.
Eric, you were a great friend and a great person all around. Although you are in a better place now. You will be missed more than you know, and the World is definitely a lesser place without you. I will miss you buddy, take care.

Esther and family,
What a special person Eric was. While I only knew him while he was in the hospital, his positive energy and strength were present, even on his toughest days. He was a joy to know and left something of himself with each one of us.
Esther, just as Eric will not be forgotten, neither will your unending kindness and compassion. You are an incredible person and fought the hard fight right alongside him. I know that the strength that kept you fighting in his life will also be there with you now.

While the loss of a loved one is never easy, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. Eric's Family-
Eric had this glow about him that affected everyone in such a positive way.. That smile of his that he always had was contagious... This image that we see is most likely the same image all of you see.. Not one person has to try to think back on good memories with Eric, if you have any memories with Eric, you just think of him and thats all there is.. Him and his smile made an instant impression on the people that he came in contact with.. He was an amazing friend that was just always there for you.. Miss you bro..
