Eugene Earl Shogren

Eugene "Gene" Earl Shogren, 91, passed away at his home on April 28, 2025, in Yuba City, CA.

A beloved father, Papa, and friend, Gene lived a long and full life defined by service, family, and a love of the great outdoors.

A proud Navy Veteran, Gene served aboard the USS Guadalupe. Whether out on the ocean or on the river, he was known for his passion for fishing as well as his love for his classic blue '46 Chevy pickup, which he would enter in local classic car shows.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma "June" Shogren; his daughter, Teresa "Terri" Fitzgerald; and other cherished loved ones whose memories he carried in his heart.

He is survived by his children, Robert (Lisa) Shogren, Patricia Shogren, and Janice (Karri Campbell) Shogren; his grandchildren, Shawna (Kristine) Fitzgerald, Tonya (Reggie) Schlieper, Brittanee (Jake) Trantham, Cody (Jena) Shogren, Brandon (Kaiten Burns) Shogren, Shayleen (Jeremy) Kurtz, and Cailen (Lacy) Campbell; and his great-grandchildren, Emery Fitzgerald, Nate Trantham, Macie and Charlie Shogren, Desmond Burns, Naomi, Leanna, and Ruby Kurtz, Luca Campbell.

Gene lived with quiet strength and a steady heart, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue in the lives of his family and all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, 11 AM, at Sutter Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
