It´s funny. I was 19 when I entered the trades and Gerald would´ve been 35. At the time, he was one of the "old timers" to all of us young apprentices. Now I´m 65 years old and I´m 30 years older than Gerald was when I first met him. Now I´m really one of the old timers, and Gerald was just in his prime at 35. Over the years, Gerald and I would occasionally cross paths and he was always the same genuine person that he was the first time I met him. Gerald was an honorable man who knew the value of an honest day´s work, a man keeping his word, and a firm handshake. The lessons I learned from him have served me well. Rest in peace, my friend.
