Irvin Hamilton

1935 - 2018

Irvin Hamilton, known to many as Doug, was born to Lloyd and Vivian (Bill) Hamilton on June 1, 1935. He passed away at his home on October 1, 2018.

Doug is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Zella Hamilton. Together they ran their little fruit stand for over 40 years.

Doug retired from the fruit stand shortly before his death due to failing health. Doug loved his little stand and his customers were his friends. He was always pleasant and the first one to help someone "down on their luck" whether it was a cold drink on a hot day, a box of food or a can of gas and a few bucks. Doug never turned anyone down that needed help.

Doug believed that what you put out into this world, good or bad, will come back to you. He was a kind and generous man with a contagious belief in mankind. He spent his life taking care of his family and helping others.

Doug was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at the 38th parallel during the Korean War.

Doug leaves behind a daughter, Penny Hamilton; two sons, Doug Hamilton Jr. and Jeff Dickerson; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many folk that grew up calling him Dad or Grandpa.

Doug leaves behind the people who's lives he touched or changed that were all loved by him. He truly will be remembered and always loved.

The family asks that if you knew Doug, please join them on a day to remember and honor his life, Saturday, October 6, 2016, from 2:00-5:00pm at Sycamore Ranch, 5390 Hwy 20, Browns Valley, CA.

A pot luck will be held. Please bring a dish and hang out and remember Doug with us. Share fond memories and help us say good-bye to a great man.
